Everything that's old is new again.
At least that's what it seems at Morgan HealthMart Pharmacy in Newcomerstown.
Owner Kris Goss said the entire store, including the Hallmark Gold Crown section and HealthMart Pharmacy side, has undergone a complete remodel this summer.
As part of the remodel, she said the old way of having greeting cards displayed in straight parallel rows is back. As compared to more curved display cases.
"It was something we had to do," Goss admits. "Everything has been moved and I'm not use to it yet."
But, the move and remodel is all to make the store more customer-friendly and handicap accessible.
She said the carpet has been replaced, the walls have been painted, new fixtures have been replaced (because some were more than 40 years old), and new greeting cards have been added to name a few of the things that customers will notice.
"We participated in the Hallmark Move Program because our last remodel was in 1996," Goss said.
She said there is also a new "Everyday" greeting card department that includes gift book selections, and sound and motion cards, including cards for toddlers to tweens.
The remodel started June 14 just a month after Morgan HealthMarth Pharmacy marked their 61st anniversary in business. Goss' parents, Bonnie and the late Robert Morgan opened Morgan Pharmacy in Newcomerstown back in May 1948. However, their anniversary celebration will continue throughout the year.
As always, Morgan HealthMart Pharmacy carries all your gift and healthcare needs as well as Hallmark gift cards, free gift wrap, lay-away, and all Gold Crown card purchases reward customers with reward certificates.
The 2009 Hallmark Keepsake ornaments have arrived and more are expected to arrive for the holiday season. The ornament debut is set for Sunday, Oct. 11. The theme is "What will you Keepsake?"
A Holiday Open House is also set for Nov. 7 and 8 at Morgan's.
Meanwhile, the 4 Seasons Gift Shoppe, located adjacent to Morgan HealthMart Pharmacy, continues to change with the season. They are starting to add their autumn items and they have marked down prices on merchandise.
There are more than 3,000 Hallmark Gold Crown stores and 440 Hallmark Corporation Stores nationwide. In 2010, Hallmark will be celebrating their 100th anniversary.
