The Newcomerstown McDonald's restaurant, along with Cadiz, Coshocton and Strasburg stores, are included in a Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection filed by owner Dana J. Lewis and his corporation.

With the filing, employees and customers should not see any differences in the operations. Restaurants will remain open.

The bankruptcy is to ask the court -- U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Northern Division of Ohio, Eastern Division, at Canton with Judge Russ Kendig presiding -- to authorize payment of bills, employees and continue the daily operations of the four locations.

More than 200 people are employed at the four locations.

The filing is on behalf of Dana Lewis McDonald's LLC, with corporate headquarters at 141 McDonald Dr. SW, New Philadelphia. However, the filing does not involve the New Philadelphia McDonald's near the headquarters.

It is also to preserve franchises with McDonald's as well as reorganize financially.

The bankruptcy hearing was Jan. 5.
