Models needed for benefit fashion show
The Back on Track Fundraising Committee is looking for male and female models of all age and sizes to participate in a fashion show to benefit the Newcomerstown Public Library.
The fashion show will take place at the Christ United Methodist Church, 648 Oak St., Newcomerstown, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27.
Tammy Shinabery is chairing the fashion show committee and will meet with anyone interested in modeling at the Newcomerstown Public Library on Jan. 21 from 3 to 6 p.m. to discuss details regarding fittings and rehearsals. Children under 12 interested in modeling will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian at fittings, rehearsals and the Back on Track Fashion Show on Feb. 27. Models under 18 will need to have a permission slip signed by a parent or guardian.
The fashion show will feature spring clothing ranging from formal wear and prom dresses to casual and comfortable. Models will need to attend one fitting at a participating retailer. A complete list of local stores participating in the fashion show will be available in the coming weeks.
Anyone interested in modeling or helping with the fashion show in another capacity can call Shinabery at 492-0146 for more information. Interested models may also call Shinaberry to set up an appointment if they cannot meet Jan. 21.
The Back on Track Fundraising Committee formed in October 2009 to help the Newcomerstown Library cope with funding cuts that have forced the library to cut hours, staff, materials and services. The committee's goal is to raise $277,000 to pay off the loan used to complete construction of the new building in 2000. Paying off the loan will free up funds for current operations and allow the library to remain viable long term.
