WEST LAFAYETTE -- The president of the Ohio State Bar Association (OSBA) will be in West Lafayette on Friday, March 19 to speak to area attorneys about current issues facing legal professional and to honor Zanesvillle attorney J. Robert Beam for his 50 years of service to the profession.

Barbara J. Howard, 2009-2010 president, will address the annual luncheon meeting of OSBA District 9 at the Raven's Glenn Winery in West Lafayette. OSBA District 9 includes 525 members who practice in Coshocton, Fairfield, Knox, Licking, Muskingum and Perry counties.

Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. Welcoming remarks and the lunch will begin at noon, followed by President Howard's address at 12:35 p.m. Carol S. Marx, District 9 representative on the OSBA Board of Governors, will preside over the meeting, which will include the election of one member of the OSBA Board of Governors and one member to the OSBA Council of Delegates. Robert A. Skelton, Coshocton County Bar Association president, will deliver welcoming remarks. OSBA members are welcome to attend the meeting at no charge.

An optional 2.0-hour continuing legal education (CLE) seminar will follow the luncheon meeting beginning at 1:30 p.m. Advance luncheon/CLE seminar is $70 for OSBA members and $852 for non-members. Lunch-only registration is $20 for members and $25 for non-members. Seminar-only registration is $50 for members and $60 for non-members.

The Ohio State Bar Association, founded in 1880, is a voluntary association representing approximately 25,000 members of the bench and bar of Ohio as well as nearly 4,000 legal assistants and law students.
