Newcomerstown Board of Public Affairs President Gregg Shivers looks over the damage done to the bulk water filling station at the Newcomerstown Waterworks location last Tuesday. Reportedly, a 42-year old man was choking on food, possibly blacked out, lost control of his 2000 Chevrolet Suburban sport utility vehicle and hit the 8-foot by 10-foot cinder block building at 6:24 a.m. He was taken to the Coshocton County Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Since the bulk filling station was built about three years ago, several millions of gallons of water go through it each year. Residents use the filling station for household purposes as well as for watering livestock. Contractors have already been contacted to repair and replace the building. The accident remained under investigation by the Newcomerstown Police Department.
