For Right to Read Week at Ridgewood Elementary School, students were treated with a theme week of "Go Hog Wild Over Reading." Each day, they dressed for that day's theme. Last Thursday, it was wear farmer clothes. For the occasion, Wendell and Greg Waters of West Lafayette brought two piglets of their more than 30,000 hogs to show the students. The two piglets were only 15 days old and weighed about 12 pounds. Greg Waters said they'll grow about two pounds a day and eventually be about 250 pounds. Here, Wendell Waters, far right, lets second grade student Alaina Derr pet one of the piglets while fellow student Jayla McCurdy waits her turn.
