What local serviceman was recently spotted arm-in-arm with a classy looking lady on Main Street?

Well, actually it was in the Olde Main Street Museum and Social Center and it was this past Saturday. That classy looking lady is none-other-than Diane Throckmorton, who was part of some early coverage for the upcoming Afternoon Tea that is sponsored by the Newcomerstown Historical Society Sept. 11.

In the meantime, the Newcomerstown Historical Society is also asking for the community's help in locating a US Marine's hat, necktie and shoes to be displayed with the uniform that is seen on the mannequin. The uniform was donated to the Newcomerstown Historical Society, having belonged to the late Lorin Johns.

Contact the museum at 498-7735 or the Newcomerstown News, attention to William Casteel, if you, or someone you know has any of these items and would be willing to loan or donate them.
