Honor Guard to present program on U.S. Presidents during assemblyThe Newcomerstown Veterans Honor Guard will present Veterans Day programs at several local schools Nov. 11.The program will have local citizens playing the roll of four Presidents as they talked about those who served their country. Loverne Marlatt will play Abraham Lincoln as he reads the "Gettysburg Address," Al Miskimen will play Theodore Roosevelt and will read his report on the "Charge of San Juan Hill," Dennis Belle will play Woodrow Wilson and read the "Declaration of War entering World War I," and Donald Norman will play Dwight D. Eisenhower ad he reads his "Comments about World War II and its Importance to Freedom."The Honor Guard will parade the colors and post them along with the schools providing patriotic music. There will be a moment of silence for those who gave their all and those veterans who have passed away. Taps will be played in their honor. Local veterans and citizens are invited to attend any of the presentations at the schools as they honor veterans on Veterans Day on Thursday, Nov. 11. The programs will be presented at Ridgewood High School at 8:15 a.m., Newcomerstown High School at 9:30 a.m., Newcomerstown West Elementary at 10:45 a.m. and Indian Valley High School at 1:15 p.m. All programs will be in the gymnasium.
