Linda Styer of Newcomerstown looks over the nativity set that was brought back from Jerusalem by her dear friend, the late Vera Smith of Newcomerstown. The scene, which is made from olive wood, is hand-carved and was brought back to the United States in 1980. The set is one of Styer's most prize positions in her elaborately-decorated house on W. Church Street in Newcomerstown. In all, she has more than 25 nativity sets for the holiday season.

Linda Styer of Newcomerstown pulls out one of her most cherished ornaments in her Christmas collection -- one given to her by her grandmother which was given to her by her mother. The glass pear is more than 150 years old. This tree, decorated with antique ornaments, is just one of 15 trees that Styer has decorated in her house. In all, she said she has more than 40 trees that she could decorate but decided on the 15 this year. It takes her about three days to complete the decorations in her house. When all the lights come on at night, she said it looks "magical."
