Community loses 'Mrs. Stone Creek'Photo courtesy of Dan SilviusTuscarawas County, more importantly, the Stone Creek community lost a person who could undoubtedly be called "Mrs. Stone Creek" -- Mildred Cronebaugh passed away Nov. 30 at the age of 91. She lived for the betterment of Stone Creek. She graduated from Stone Creek High School in 1936 and was a longtime member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Stone Creek. She was very active in the Grange and was a 4-H advisor for more than 60 years. She was even inducted into the Ohio State 4-H Hall of Fame and the Ohio State 4-H Alumni Association. Her favorite time of year was when the Tuscarawas County Fair rolled around. Mildred was "community minded" to say the least and always had her hometown at heart. In this 2007 file photo, Mildred was honored for her 60 years as an Angel Valley Rosebud and Ramblers 4-H Club advisor. She received a silver platter for her tenure as a 4-H leader. On behalf of the community and the Newcomerstown News staff, she will be missed.
