Holmes to lead Indian Valley Board of Education GNADENHUTTEN -- Larry Holmes was selected by the Indian Valley Local Board of Education to serve as the president pro-tempore for the organizational meeting. The organizational meeting will be Monday, Jan. 10 at 7 p.m. in the high school library. The regular monthly board meeting will follow at approximately 7:15 p.m. In other business, the board:* Approved the following volunteers, Thomas Cunningham, FFA alumni president; Caitlyn Winrod, Brittany Mizer and Kelsey Emler, girls' basketball; and Dan Kramer, Ski Club.* Approved Zach McKibben's resignation as middle school winter sports assistant wrestling coach.* Approved Andy Lahmers as the middle school winter sports assistant wrestling coach. * Employed Kyle Myers as the middle school fall sports assistant football coach.* Recalled Dan Kinsey from RIF list and assigned as bus driver, effective Jan. 24.* Approved Megan Holmes as a girls' basketball volunteer.* Accepted the following donations and grants: Midvale PTO, snow blower, $600; IV Athletic Boosters, locker rooms, $1,000; Martha Holden Jennings, Jazz for Young People, $2,013; and Martha Holden Jennings, Happy Tears, $1,000. * Approved the change in substitute pay for substitute custodians, cooks, aides and secretaries from $7.30 per hour to $7.40 per hour, effective Jan. 1, due to an increase in minimum wage.* Approved a contract for a handicapped student at Coshocton City Schools.* Approved a contract for a non-handicapped student at Coshocton City Schools. * Approved a resolution to place a renewal of an existing tax levy on an upcoming ballot. This renewal levy will raise $599,000 each year for a period of five years.
