Paul Parks, Zanesville, formerly of Newcomerstown, was recently honored by his family with a 90th birthday celebration in Wellington Place Clubhouse, Zanesville. Some 50 friends and family members attended including those pictured, l to r, front row,  Paul's granddaughter, Wendy Parks Smith; his son, Jay Parks of New York City; Paul; his son, Whit Parks, Zanesville, and his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Eric (Traci) Parks; and back row, great-grandsons Jacob Smith and Dylen Marple; grandsons, Ty Parks and Troy Parks, and daughter-in-law, Mrs. Whit (Beth) Parks. Paul's wife, Mary Ann Neal Parks, and son, Eric Parks are deceased. Paul served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the South Pacific in World War II and is well-known and respected in his hometown Newcomerstown where he played on the NHS undefeated football team of 1938, served on the Newcomerstown Public Library board, and is a member and former secretary of Newcomerstown Elks, to name just a few of his numerous local involvements.
