NEW PHILADELPHIA -- State Route 751 will be closed to traffic for 120 days at Stone Creek in Tuscarawas County, staring Feb. 28, for a bridge replacement.

Beginning at the Interstate 77 Interchange, State Route 751 traffic will be detoured south on Interstate 77 to U.S. 36 west back to State Route 751, and reverse.

Both north and southbound on and off ramps at I-77 will remain open throughout construction to County Road 53 and Township Road 219.

The Ohio Department of Transportation's contractor, Dennison Bridge Inc., from Dennison, will be replacing an existing bridge over an unnamed tributary of Stone Creek and an abandoned railroad bed with two, three-sided box culverts.

Work was completed last year on the State Route 751 bridge located over the interstate. The total project cost, including both structures, is $2.7 million, and the completion date is June 15, 2011.
