GNADENHUTTEN -- Voters in the Indian Valley Local School District will see a renewal tax levy on the ballot when they go to the polls next Tuesday. The 3.6-mill renewal tax levy for five-years is for providing emergency requirements for the school district.
However, it is not a new tax.
The school district has not asked taxpayers for any new monies for operation since 1992.
"You can be proud of our school as they have been frugal with our monies, thus holding off any new levies," Ed Lee of the Indian Valley Levy Committee said.
The Indian Valley School District just received a certificate of achievement at the Ohio Education Matters for being one of the school districts with low cost of their central administration.
"The levy committee is asking for your support in passing this renewal levy for Indian Valley Schools," Lee said. "You have been supportive in the past and we need your support once again."
