COSHOCTON -- May 6 will kickoff the 2011 First Friday season with the Ohio State String Quartet and a Coshocton Community Choir Ensemble performing music of 1811 at the Park Hotel lot platform at 6 p.m. presented by the Pomerene Center for the Arts as part of the annual Dogwood Festival.

The 1811 music is presented to celebrate Coshocton's bicentennial. Main Street businesses will stay open until 8 p.m. on First Fridays and everyone is invited to come downtown to shop, visit with friends and enjoy the entertainment.

In June and July, the Coshocton Community Band will perform. June and September will feature a petting zoo and farm equipment displays compliments of the Soil and Water Conservation District. And don't forget the annual sidewalk sales in August and in September. The Business and Professional Women will present its annual cake auction.

Craft and food vendors are welcome and fund-raising groups are invited to set up on Main Street. Call the Coshocton County Chamber of Commerce at (740) 622-5411 for information.
