Two Newcomerstown Middle School teachers, Don Stevens and Mrs. Shelley Cline, will be among the eight area teachers honored at a special reception Monday, May 2 due to the efforts of two NMS students.

Seventh graders Riley Kellish, daughter of Jon and Jodi Kellish, and Gage Miller, son of Deana Vickery, recently entered the "Teachers Are Tops!" essay contest, sponsored by WTUZ Radio 99.9 FM in partnership with First National Bank of Dennison. Essays were to be 200 words or less, and the winning entries were chosen by retired teachers.

Kellish wrote her essay on seventh grade science teacher, Don Stevens, and Miller honored his Language Arts teacher from sixth grade, Shelley Cline, in his entry.

These students along with their parents, the teachers they honored, and principal Jason Peoples are all invited to join the other essay contest winners and honored teachers at the banquet and awards ceremony in May.
