COSHOCTON -- Two children, ages 6 and 21 months, were flown by medical helicopter Monday, June 27 to Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus following an all-terrain vehicle accident in Coshocton County.
Authorities declined to release the identities of the victims due to their ages.
As a result, no updates regarding their conditions were available.
The children's mother, Evelyn Hammond, 24, Newcomerstown, was also injured and was flown by medical helicopter to The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus.
Hammond was listed in "fair" condition.
According to the Coshocton County Sheriff's Office, Hammond was driving the ATV on County Road 5 in Oxford Township near Newcomerstown with her two children as passengers when the accident occurred.
A 6-year-old girl reportedly fell off the ATV, causing Hammond to turn to see what happened to her daughter. Hammond then lost control of the ATV, which went off the left side of the roadway and into a ditch, where it overturned.
