The Citizens' Scholarship Foundation of Newcomerstown announces that $63,000 was awarded to 24 seniors and 32 students in post-secondary programs at the end of this school year.

The Newcomerstown Scholarship Foundation was started in 1964 and has given scholarship awards every year since that time to students graduating from Newcomerstown High School. The funds for the scholarships come from the interest on monies received from several people who have left donations in their estates that has been invested with the chapter.

The chapter, for the past three years, has made funds available to students already going to school. The chapter is made up of 13 local citizens with Pat Cadle, president; Alan Bambeck, treasurer; and Dennis Belle, secretary.
