On a recent hunting trip in southern Vinton County, Ron Haver of Newcomerstown shot an exceptionally large wild board. The feral hog was dropped with one shot at 80 yards and weighed 785 pounds. Ron used a .375 Ruger H&H and 300 grade Trophy Bonded Bear Claw ammo. The meat was donated to a local Newcomerstown organization for their board roast. The hunt was unusual but a memorable way to celebrate Havers 60th birthday.
