WEST LAFAYETTE Steve Saines, a representative for the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), recently commended the Village of West Lafayette for its outstanding involvement in the Ohio EPA Drinking Water Protection Plan. A certificate was presented to Mayor Jack Patterson and the village members that have been instrumental in the plans action.

Saines said Ohio EPA will continue monitoring the villages water site in West Lafayette as part of the ongoing protection for safe drinking water.

A photo of the village members involved in the plan was later taken by Saines and will be placed on the Ohio EPA website.

As part of the villages ongoing dedication to keep the villages water supply safe, village council members later approved a resolution for the village to apply for and enter into a water pollution control loan fund agreement with the Ohio EPA for planning, design, and construction/upgrading of the villages wastewater facilities and designating a repayment source for the loan.
