Officers from the Newcomerstown Police Department responded to a complaint of a man with a knife on Oct. 29 in the village.
Upon arrival, officers found a 28-year-old male bleeding from the abdomen area from an apparent stab wound.
Witnesses state that an altercation had occurred between the two men when the stabbing took place.
Arrested and charged was Lonnie Kellam, 44, of Newcomerstown.
Kellam was charged with felonious assault and tampering with evidence.
The victim, whos identity is not being released, was transported to the Coshocton County Memorial Hospital by Tri-County Ambulance, and later transported to Grant Medical Center in Columbus.
The incident remains under investigation.
