The Newcomerstown Bicentennial is right around the corner in 2014 and the committee is working hard to make the year exceptional.
One of the planned projects is quilts.
They plan to have several made and one of the quilts will be called the Community Quilt.
It is the Log Cabin design and if you would like to be part of this project and have a square or squares that you can piece together for this quilt, stop by the Newcomerstown Public Library and pick up an instruction sheet on how these squares need to be made.
Or, call Marlene Ross at 498-8561 to have an instruction sheet mailed to you.
All squares have to be returned no later than Feb. 29, 2012.
They would like to have at least 62 squares for the quilt.
If they get less squares, they will make a smaller quilt.
If they get more squares, they will make a larger quilt.
