The Newcomerstown preschool room has gained two new additions to its classroom. They have Kent State-Tuscarawas students Kara Brooks and Amanda Poletti currently completing their student teaching. In January, the preschool spent two weeks on nursery rhymes. During these two weeks, the preschool discussed the difference between real and pretend, learned nursery rhymes, and focused on rhyming words. In February, the preschoolers have been focusing on music. Brooks and Poletti have taken the class to the music room for several activities. The children have gotten the opportunity to play a triangle, flute, and ukulele. The children also made their own shakers and played them in class. The preschool class will be spending the week celebrating Valentine's Day.
