The Newcomerstown Quilting Bees presented a donation to the Newcomerstown Public Library. The money raised came from last fall's quilt show, as well as proceeds from raffles at the show. Winners of those raffles included, Nancy Orr, quilt rack; Margaret Hirschfeld, sewing machine; and Wilma Hunt, gift certificate. In all, the Newcomerstown Quilting Bees donated $1,128. However, over the past year, they have donated an additional $637 to the library. That money goes to the library's general fund and children's programs. The Bees also purchased books for the library. Here, Newcomerstown Quilting Bee Noreen Johnson presents the Newcomerstown Public Library Director Greg Romer with the check from the quilt show. The Newcomerstown Quilting Bees meet Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Library Annex, as well as have hand-quilting classes on Fridays from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Library Annex. The facility is hand-cap accessible and new members are always welcome.
