STONE CREEK -- Tunnel Hill Community Center in Stone Creek will be having a Chili Cook-off on Saturday, March 31 from 4 to 6 p.m.

The contest is open to the public. There is no entry free.

Contestants may use any kind of meat and/or beans, but no pasta.

Judges will vote for the chili, based on the following major considerations: Good chili flavor (taste), texture of the meat, consistency, aroma and red color.

The list of ingredients must be included on a 3x5 card. Please bring enough soup to serve 30 plus people.

Bring ready-made chili to the center by 4 p.m. for judging. There will be first and second place, plus a people's choice prize. Judges will pick first and second place winners and the people will vote by using quarters for their favorite soup for the people choice winner.

Serving soup, crackers, drink and dessert until 6 p.m. The cost is $3.50 for adults and $2 for children.

Hot dogs will be available to purchase for $1.50.

Any soup left at 6 p.m. will be sold by the quart jar for $5.

The proceeds will benefit the Tunnel Hill Community Center kitchen project.
