CAMBRIDGE -- The Executive Board of the Ohio Mid-Eastern Governments Association (OMEGA) met recently at the Cambridge Country Club.

Included on the agenda was the election of new officers.

Elected to serve as President was Carroll County Commissioner Thomas Wheaton.

Holmes County Commissioner Ray Eyler was elected as vice president. Domenick Mucci, mayor of Steubenville, was elected secretary.

Tuscarawas County Commissioner Chris Abbuhl was elected to serve as treasurer. Mark Barbash, Special Projects director for the Finance Fund, a non-profit economic development company, presented information to the board and staff on financing projects in distressed areas.

Executive Director Greg DiDonato announced Sue Wood, fiscal officer, received the Auditor of State award for having a "clean" audit report.

Director DiDonato thanked Ms. Wood for her effective and accountable financial practices.

The director also reported the retirement of Ed Tester, Technology Specialist, after 32+ years of service.

The board approved President Wheaton to sign a letter of commendation for Mr. Tester.

The next OMEGA meeting will be a full membership meeting to be March 14 at Raven's Glenn Winery and Italian Restaurant.
