NEW PHILADELPHIA -- Safe Kids Tuscarawas collected over 120 donated dresses at its annual Prom Showcase this year for a good cause. The donated dresses will be offered to girls wanting to go to prom, but who cannot afford the hundreds of dollars these dresses can cost.

The dresses will be free to any girl in need, but she must have a dress voucher in order to choose a dress. The vouchers are available through area high school nurses, at the Tuscarawas County Health Department, OSU Extension Office, Compass Rape Crisis Center or through Job and Family Services. The Cinderella's Closet event for these girls will be Friday, March 23 at Bearly Worn 1877 E. High Ave., New Philadelphia, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. With over 120 dresses to choose from in many styles and sizes, these girls can have the prom of their dreams.

Many area people were already extremely generous in donating prom dresses for use in Safe Kid's Cinderella's Closet, but to provide a better selection, there is still a need for dresses and accessories. If anyone is interested in donating stylish clean prom dresses, shoes , purses or jewelry prior to March 23, they can drop them off at Bearly Worn during business hours.
