Newcomerstown Middle School sixth grade science teacher Mrs. Tara Supers was recently notified that she was one of the award winners of the national 2012 Turning Technologies Classroom Improvement Technology Grant.

Out of nearly 1300 applications submitted from across the United States, filled with many thoughtful and innovative uses for the award, only 10 award winners were selected, with Mrs. Supers being the only winner from the state of Ohio. Across the nation, these 10 classroom awards will directly impact over 1,040 students.

For her grant writing efforts, Mrs. Supers received $3,600 worth of technology to utilize in her classroom, including a one-year subscription to Brain Pop and Brain Pop Jr.; a Samsung Galaxy Tablet; and a Turning Technologies Student Response Card NXT System with 32 student devices.
