DOVER -- Homeschoolers and the general public are invited to a free "Creatures of the Friendly Skies" event on Wednesday, April 11 at the Norma Johnson Center (NJC).

The event is free but registration is a must by calling 330-339-7976. It will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Brandywine Center, located across from Valley View Homes.

Nancy Owens of Turtle Spring Wildlife Center in Carroll County will give the presentation and introduce her feathery friends.

An avid educator and rehabilitator of birds of prey, Owens will bring a live hawk, an owl and a bat for the audience to see up close and personal. This presentation is a must see for all ages as they learn about these incredible creatures' needs and mannerisms.
