DOVER -- The Norma Johnson Center (NJC) is hosting a make and take it rain barrel workshop on Saturday, April 21 from 1 to 4 p.m.
A power point presentation about rain barrel construction, use and maintenance will be given and participants will be shown how to build their own rain barrels.
The rain barrels consist of food grade 55 gallon barrels, overflow, spigot for water release and a top entry hole to accommodate the water from the spouting.
Participants are to meet at the yellow pole building, located on Route 39, three miles west of Dover Exit 83. Cost will be $55 per barrel.
Pre-registration is required. Those who cannot make it to the workshop can purchase the rain barrels throughout the year from the NJC at a cost of $65 each.
This event will be held in light rain or sunshine. Those who have questions or need of directions, call Marsha Zoller, NJC director, at 330-339-7976, ext. 207. The office for the Norma Johnson Center is located with the Tuscarawas Soil and Water Conservation District.
