On Friday, March 23, members of the Newcomerstown Senior Center voted to discontinue the contract with Harcatus for the kitchen and dining room services.
This vote came about after much discussion.
However, Harcatus will continue to serve the meals at the senior center through April 26.
This in no way interferes with the delivery of "Meals on Wheels." Harcatus will continue to be in charge of providing these meals either from another location in Newcomerstown or from their main kitchen in Dennison.
The Newcomerstown Senior Center greatly appreciates the service that Harcatus has provided to the people of Newcomerstown and to the senior center in the past.
Organizers are hoping that the dining room will not be closed during this transitional period. As of now, you will not need to be a member of the center to eat in the dining room. All you have to be is 55 years of age or older.
