DOVER -- Congressman Bob Gibbs will be the guest speaker for the Tuscarawas County Township Association annual spring banquet.
The tradition of recognizing the "Tuscarawas County Township Official of the Year" will be continued. Nominations for the person that best represents townships and grassroots government will be welcome.
Patty Arth received that honor at the 2011 banquet. She has been a Salem Township fiscal officer for 14 years and has been secretary-treasurer of the township association for five years.
In addition, Arth has served as Tuscarawas County Fair Board secretary for 27 years and was a bus driver for Newcomerstown Schools for 26 years.
Patty and her husband, Dick, have been married for 41 years and have a grown son and daughter and a grandson.
The event will take place Monday, April 23 in the Tuscarawas County Senior Center, 425 Prospect St., Dover. A mini trade show will begin at 5:30 p.m. and a buffet-style pork tenderloin and chicken dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m.
The cost of the meal will be covered for all elected township officials and their guest. The cost of the meal for county and state officials and associate members is also covered, but if they wish to bring a guest there will be a charge of $15.
