Royalty applications for the annual Cy Young Days Festival are available at each Newcomerstown school building as well as at Dale Gress Real Estate in Newcomerstown. Applications are due May 21. They may be returned to the school office or to Dale Gress Real Estate in Newcomerstown. Candidates for queen, junior queen, princess and mini queen are being accepted.

All 2012 Newcomerstown High School graduates are invited to attend a Baccalaureate Service on Sunday, May 20.

Graduates will gather at 2 p.m. in St. Paul's Lutheran Church at the corner of Canal and College Streets in Newcomerstown.

Parents, grandparents and family are invited to attend. Light refreshments will be served.

Changes to drama

WEST LAFAYETTE -- Ridgewood High School has made some changes in its upcoming drama piece. Rehearsal for "Murder" will be performed in the high school auditorium on May 25 at 7:30 p.m.

"Murder for the Nile" has been rescheduled for Nov. 1 and 2.

Golf outing set

The annual Newcomerstown Chamber of Commerce golf outing fundraiser is set for Wednesday, July 25 at Hickory Flats Golf Course in West Lafayette. Teams and hole sponsors are needed.

Yard sales in village

Computer class

Newcomerstown Public Library will be having a final beginner's computer class from May 14-18. The class will run from 1 to 4 p.m. daily. This class is filling up quickly, so if you are interested, call the library to reserve a seat at 498-8228.

Stamp Shoppe class

The Stamp Shoppe is offering a free class on the second Friday of the month at 7:30 p.m. at Melody and Motion School of Performing Arts, 11072 Wolf Station Road, Newcomerstown. In the class, students will learn how to use rubber stamps for card making, scrapbooking and paper crafting. More classes are available at a fee.

Library board to meet

Regular meetings of the Newcomerstown Public Library Board of Trustees are the second Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m. in the Library Annex.

Projects sought for community service

COPS (Community Outreach Project) is hoping to help Newcomerstown area residents with home repair and maintenance.

Unfortunately, they are not able to do lawn care on a regular basis, but they are looking to help people make minor home repairs in their homes.

They are willing to do inside repairs during the winter months.

Christ's Kitchen

Christ's Kitchen, located in the Fellowship Hall of the Christ United Methodist Church in Newcomerstown, serves dinner from 4 to 6:15 p.m. every Monday. The dining room is open from 4 to 6:30 p.m.

Sonshine Boxes drop-off

Bob Pell's Nationwide Insurance office, located at 117 N. Bridge St., Newcomerstown, is a new collection site for items to be sent to soldiers serving our country. Items may still be donated at Riverside Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, also in Newcomerstown. Sonshine Boxes consist of anything a soldier might need such as personal hygiene items, games, movies, etc.
