Tuscarawas County Genealogical Society has 293 members
DENNISON -- The May 7 business meeting of the Tuscarawas County Genealogical Society was conducted by President Jon Baker.
Committee reports were given and it was noted they have a total of 293 members this year. Emma McMannamy reported 24 books, two tote bags and four charts were sold in April. That included those sold at the O.G.S. convention by Virginia Cassady and Barbara Mills.
Baker said he presented JoeAnn and Larry McCue the Zeisberger Heckewelder award at the recent Founders Day Banquet.
A discussion was held on having a display at the Tuscarawas County Fair again this year and Peggy Brown will check on the size of the display area for this year.
Virginia Cassady and Barbara Mills reported on the census indexing they are doing for the 1940 census that was recently released.
Refreshments were served by JoeAnn McCue, Christy Walker and Carol Sliffe.
The annual covered dish picnic will take place at the Midvale Park shelter June 4 at 6 p.m.
