CAMBRIDGE -- Southeastern Med will host Safe Sitter courses on July 24 and Aug. 7 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Safe Sitter is a course designed to teach safe and nurturing babysitting skills to young adolescents between the ages of 11 and 13. Instruction includes how to administer first aid, how to handle medical emergencies and what to do for a choking child. Safe Sitter also teaches organizational skills, safety habits and the importance of knowing when to call for help.

The Southeastern Med Auxiliary provides the funds for the Safe Sitter manuals and backpacks. The cost to attend is $35. Only a few spots are still available for the July 24 class.
