NEW PHILADELPHIA -- The 2012 Tuscarawas County 4-H Demonstration Contest took place June 29 at JIM's Place in New Philadelphia.

Judges Carol Gregor, Anita Edwards, Marjorie Hursey and Tammy Keating evaluated individuals and teams on their presentation.

Selected winners will represent the Tuscarawas County 4-H program at the Ohio State Fair on Aug. 1, where they will compete against other youth throughout the state.

Results are as follows (* denotes eligible to go to State Fair):

Junior Individual

First: Jonah McGlumphy, Stonecreek Peas and Carrots, "Fold a Yoda."*

Second: Clayton Sprowl, Buckhorn Buckshots, "Be Prepared."*

Third: MacKenzie Peffer, Tusky Valley Farmers, "How to Make America's Favorite Desert."*

Fourth: Laney Barger, Thunder Valley Pioneers, "How to Play the Violin."

Fifth: Haley, 4-H Griffins, "CPR."

Senior Individual

Second: Haley Parrish, Thunder Valley Pioneers, "How to Properly and Safely Make a Climbing System."*

Third: Michala Metzcar, Atwood Lakers, "Take a Memo."*

Fourth: Jamie Barker, Crooked Run Cloverstichers, "Grow, Sparkle, Shine."

Fifth: Micaliah Peffer, Tusky Valley Farmers, "Behind the Scenes of Fashion."
