Local historian discusses heritage with Tuscarawas County Genealogical Society
DENNISON -- The Tuscarawas County Genealogical Society met July 2 with Jon Baker conducting the business meeting.
He then introduced guest speaker Danielle White. She talked about researching her African/American ancestors and the other families that migrated to this area and worked in the Midvale Clay plants and lived in what was called the Royal Settlement.
Refreshments were served by Peggy Brown and Irene Walter.
The next meeting will be Aug. 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the library in Dennison with the Tuscarawas County Recorder Lori Smith talking about her office. The public is invited to attend.
