The Newcomerstown Relay for Life is planning its annual Bark at the Park for Saturday, Aug. 18 at the Cy Young Park from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This year's event is going to include the usual walking and contests for the dogs, a silent auction, and concession stand. New this year will be a 5K run/walk (sponsored by the Bates Metal Relay for Life team) at 9 a.m., a three-on-three basketball tournament (sponsored by Long's Pool) starting at 10:30 a.m., a four-on-four sand volleyball tournament starting at 10:30 a.m., and more. The pool will also be open.

Registration for the 5K Run/Walk is $15 ($20 on race day). Register by Aug. 11 to be guarantee a race shirt. Day of registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and the run/walk begins at 9 a.m. There will be awards for the top three male and female overall and medals to the top three male and female finishers in each age group. Age groups (male and female) 13 & under, 14-18, 19-23, 24-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over. Registration forms can be picked up at Bates Metal, Medi-Wise Pharmacy or call Nicole for a form.

Light refreshments and drinks will be available for all walkers/runners after the race. Dogs are more than welcome to run with their owners.
