Newcomerstown High School will be hosting freshmen and new student orientation Thursday, Aug. 16 beginning at 6 p.m. Parents and all members of the public will be welcome to tour our high school from 5 to 6 p.m.

Orientation will begin promptly at 6 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. Students and their parents will have the opportunity to hear about curriculum, careers, and pick up their schedule, which will be discussed by our guidance counselor, Mrs. Robinson. They will also get locker assignments and combinations. Mr. Sherman, the principal, will talk to students about the school day, school policies, expectations we have for the students, and the requirements of the 10th grade Ohio Graduation Test (OGT). Mr. Ritzert, assistant principal, will discuss student behavior expectations, school rules, and other building procedures. There will also be time for any questions that students or their parents may have, and you will be given the opportunity to walk through your schedule, find your locker and open it. Students and parents are encouraged to attend and get to know us a little better.

Sophomores, juniors, and seniors will be receiving their schedules and packet of forms in the mail next week If there are any student requests for schedule changes Mrs. Robinson will address them after the start of the school year.
