PORT WASHINGTON -- On Thursday, Aug. 9, the Indian Valley Local School District will sponsor its ninth annual Back to School Fair. Parents and caregivers of upcoming students in kindergarten, first and second grades at Port Washington Elementary and Midvale Elementary are invited. Doors will open at 9 a.m. at Midvale Elementary, and the activities last until 11 a.m.

A Scholastic Book Fair will be set up in the cafeteria, sponsored by the Midvale PTO. Families will have the opportunity to purchase books, and proceeds will support various activities at Midvale Elementary. The Back to School Fair gives parents and youngsters the opportunity to obtain school information as well as needed supplies and services for the new academic year. All items and services will be free of charge and are only available to those who attend the morning event.

Kindergarten students will receive free book bags while first and second graders can pick up complimentary school supply kits. In addition, there will be lice checks and optional haircuts along with hearing and vision screenings. Information on dental health will also be available.
