A trash and treasure sale with bake sale and food stand is planned for Saturday, Aug. 11 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the West Union Church basement and outside, 13679 Gilmore Road.
The sale is sponsored by the West Union Women's Fellowship.
Library makes changes
Newcomerstown Public Library is eliminating its VHS movie collection. During the week of Aug. 13-18, patrons will be able to come in and select some of your favorite movies to add to your home collection. A small donation would be appreciated when you make your selections.
The next Newcomerstown Bicentennial Committee meeting is set for Saturday, Aug. 11 at 10 a.m. in the community room at Newcomerstown High School. All are welcome.
Kimbolton Homecoming set
KIMBOLTON -- The Kimbolton Homecoming celebration is set for Aug. 25-26. A chicken barbecue, parade, raffle tickets, 50-50 drawing, car show, square dance and yard sales are all planned. The square dance will be Saturday, Aug. 25 from 7 to 9 p.m. and will feature Rod Bradford and Buddies.

Newcomerstown Farmers Market is up and running for the season. It takes place every Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Newcomerstown Library parking lot. Enjoy fresh local produce and baked goods. You will also find assorted crafts, jewelry, soap and candles.

Christ's Kitchen, located in the Fellowship Hall of the Christ United Methodist Church in Newcomerstown, serves dinner from 4 to 6:15 p.m. every Monday. The dining room is open from 4 to 6:30 p.m.
The meal is free but donations are accepted.

Bob Pell's Nationwide Insurance office, located at 117 N. Bridge St., Newcomerstown, is a new collection site for items to be sent to soldiers serving our country. Items may still be donated at Riverside Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, also in Newcomerstown. Sonshine Boxes consist of anything a soldier might need such as personal hygiene items, games, movies, etc. For information, call 498-7994.
