On Thursday, June 14, a group of residents from the Memory Care Neighborhood at Riverside Manor Nursing home enjoyed an all day trip to Tappan Lake.
After enjoying the ride to Tappan, the group boarded two separate pontoons and preceded to "cruise" the lake for an hour.
Assisting the residents from the Activities department were Steve Shade, Mabel Amore and Beth Taylor.
Emily Whyde, a STNA at Riverside, was along for the ride as well and was a huge help. Volunteering for the outing were Kristin Amore and Mr. Harold Shade.
Residents in attendance were Betty Crahan, Margaret Crites, Georgia Haver, Joyce Stewart, Eleanor Kellett, Ray Eaches, Lester Myers, Stan Winters, and Bill "The Captain" Murphy.
While on the lake, a few of the residents took turns driving the boat, which was wonderful to see.
Following the pontoon ride, the group enjoyed lunch inside the marina where they had everything from cheeseburgers to chicken wings.
After finishing their meal, the bus ride home lasted over an hour as they ventured through the back roads of Harrison and Tuscarawas counties.
