Genealogy class planned this fall

DENNISON -- The Tuscarawas County Genealogical Society met Aug. 6 with Jon Baker introducing guest speaker Lori Smith from the Recorder's office.

Smith explained what is available in her office for research.

There were 18 members present and Jon Baker then presided over the business meeting.

Committee reports were presented and a discussion was held on replacing the library lighting fixtures and getting a new computer printer. Alan Deibel will pick up and install a new printer.

Peggy Brown announced the fair display committee will be meeting soon. It was also decided to have a beginner's only Genealogy class the fourth Monday of the months of September, October and November. It will take place in the library from 6 to 8 p.m. No admission fee will be required.

Refreshments were served by Emma and faith McMannamy.

The next meeting will be Sept. 10 at 7:30 p.m. with the executive meeting starting at 6 p.m.
