Welcome to East School, where students come to learn and teachers come to teach. In fact, the whole staff helps to teach your child in a variety of ways every day. East School has been a very busy place all summer long. The custodian has been cleaning and preparing the building for a new school year. Teachers have been in for the past month, getting their rooms and the hallways ready for opening day. There is definitely an air of excitement here at East School.
Cafeteria prices for this school year will be: Lunch, $2.25; milk, $.55; reduced priced lunch, $.40; and breakfast is free for everyone
Sub dinner set
East School is sponsoring a Sub Dinner on Friday, Sept. 21 at the East School Cafeteria from 4 to 6 p.m. and carry-out is available. This is homecoming night and you won't need to cook if you're going to the game! The dinner includes choice of a turkey, ham, or Italian Sub, macaroni or potato salad, cookie and a drink for $8.
Student meals include choice of a turkey or ham sub, applesauce, cookie, and a juice box for $3.
All proceeds from this fund raiser will benefit East School Students. Tickets are available now and can be purchased at the school office and from East School staff.
When picking up students after school, park in the Lutheran Church parking lot. The students will be waiting with their teacher outside the rear door of the building. An adult must come to this area to get the child as children will not be permitted to cross the parking lot unattended. Please do not park in the alley beside the school because it makes it very difficult for the buses to get through the alley. Also, please do not park behind the East School in the Staff parking lot because students that are walking home go through this area. All building doors and classroom doors are kept locked for security purposes except the front door by the office. If you come to the school after 8:45, you must come in the front door. Thank you for your pati ence and understanding.
Begin collecting the box tops from General Mills cereals, Our Family products and Campbell Soup Labels and send them to school with your child. The money collected from the General Mills cereals allows us to purchase supplies for the school. There is a catalog that we are able to select items when we send in the Campbell Soup Labels. Remind grandparents and other relatives to help you save labels. There are a variety of items that can be used for General Mills. Just look for the "Box Tops for Education" portion of the label, tear it off, and send it in. For Our Family and Campbell's products, the UPC bar code is what is required. Tear those off and send those in as well. Our thanks to the PTO for taking care of collecting, counting, and sending in all the labels for these projects.
Make A Difference Day
East School Students will be collecting donations for Make A Difference Day until Oct. 18. The money collected will all be donated to the Akron Children's Hospital. In the past, they have donated to the South Side Park, Journey's End Ministries, New York City Firefighters,Cancer Society and the Newcomerstown Senior Citizens.
They believe that children should learn to be giving, caring people and participating in Make A Difference Day will help students experience the joy of helping others first hand.
