The Rev. Murray McMillan was assigned as pastor of Everals United Methodist Church in January 2012. The church has an average attendance of 12 to 14. Shorty after beginning his ministry there, he issued a challenge to the congregation. Any Sunday that the attendance reached at least 20, he would wear his Scottish kilt the following Sunday. The congregation accepted his challenge and on Sept. 2, the attendance was 33. The following Sunday, the Rev. McMillan preached his sermon in his kilt and shared his Scottish heritage and experiences at the various Scottish festivals he and his wife visited.
