Quilting in museum
The Newcomerstown Quilting Bees will be working on the Community Quilt in the Temperance Tavern Museum on Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon.

Frontier Apple Festival postponed
The Frontier Apple Festival in Newcomerstown has been postponed due to illness and no new date has been set. Further details will be forthcoming.
Craft show set
A craft show is set for Oct. 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the St. Francis DeSales Church, 440 S. River St., Newcomerstown.
Lunch stand and bake sale provided by the Ladies of St. Francis.

NERS open house
The Newcomerstown Emergency Rescue Squad's Fire Division will have an open house at the fire station on Wednesday, Oct. 3 from 4 to 7 p.m.
There will be lots of activities for children to participate in as well as refreshments. All are invited.
The Newcomerstown Rotary Club's blood testing program will be Saturday, Oct. 6 from 7 to 9:30 a.m. at the Newcomerstown West School.
The blood test cost is $35. Prostate specific antigen is $25.
There are is also thyroid screenings for $20 and Hemoglobin A1C for $25.
Tests will be administered by the Coshocton County Memorial Hospital lab.
Participants must fast for 12 hours prior to the time of the blood draw. Do not smoke the morning of the testing. Drinking water is permitted.
Breakfast will be available and served from 6:30 to 10 a.m. by the PTO.
Also that day, bring in your unused or expired drugs which can be turned in to be disposed of properly.
Scrapbooking event planned
STONE CREEK -- The Stone Creek VFD Women's Auxiliary will have a Scrap the Day Away scrapbooking event on Saturday, Oct. 13 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Grace Community Church in Stone Creek. Cost for scrapbooking event is $20 for early registration, or $25 at the door. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks provided.

Farmers market continues
Newcomerstown Farmers Market is up and running for the season. It takes place every Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Newcomerstown Library parking lot. Enjoy fresh local produce and baked goods. You will also find assorted crafts, jewelry, soap and candles.

Christ's Kitchen, located in the Fellowship Hall of the Christ United Methodist Church in Newcomerstown, serves dinner from 4 to 6:15 p.m. every Monday. The dining room is open from 4 to 6:30 p.m.
The meal is free but donations are accepted.

Sonshine Boxes drop-off
Bob Pell's Nationwide Insurance office, located at 117 N. Bridge St., Newcomerstown, is a new collection site for items to be sent to soldiers serving our country. Items may still be donated at Riverside Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, also in Newcomerstown. Sonshine Boxes consist of anything a soldier might need such as personal hygiene items, games, movies, etc.
