Toys for Local Tots donations

Monetary donations are being sought for the Newcomerstown Chamber of Commerce's annual Toys for Local Tots program.

Last year, the organization was able to give holiday gifts to some 200 children in the Newcomerstown area.

Donations may be dropped off at the Huntington National Bank or mailed to the Newcomerstown Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 456, Newcomerstown, OH 43832.

Library meeting

A special meeting for the Newcomerstown Public Library is set for Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. in the Library Annex, 123 N. Bridge St., Newcomerstown. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss insurance.

Bicentennial Committee

The next Newcomerstown Bicentennial Committee meeting will be Saturday, Dec. 8 at 10 a.m. in the conference room at Newcomerstown High School. All are welcome.

Round, square dance

STONE CREEK -- A round and square dance is set for Saturday, Dec. 8 from 8 to 11 p.m. at the Tunnel Hill Community Center in Stone Creek. The cost is $5 per person.

Quilting in museum

The Newcomerstown Quilting Bees will be working on the Community Quilt in the Temperance Tavern Museum on Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon. All are welcome to help. For information, call Gladys Hinds at 498-6240.

Christ's Kitchen

Christ's Kitchen, located in the Fellowship Hall of the Christ United Methodist Church in Newcomerstown, serves dinner from 4 to 6:15 p.m. every Monday.

The dining room is open from 4 to 6:30 p.m.

The meal is free but donations are accepted.

The church is located at 648 Oak St., Newcomerstown.

Sonshine Boxes drop-off

Bob Pell's Nationwide Insurance office, located at 117 N. Bridge St., Newcomerstown, is a new collection site for items to be sent to soldiers serving our country. Items may still be donated at Riverside Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, also in Newcomerstown. Sonshine Boxes consist of anything a soldier might need such as personal hygiene items, games, movies, etc.
