DOVER -- The Reeves Foundation of Dover distributed $823,654 in grants to 30 organizations and public entities during 2012. An additional $172,450 in grants also has bene approved by the foundation's trustees and will be disbursed at later dates.

Locally, grants were disbursed to:

Delaware Valley Fire District, Port Washington, $22,848 for equipment.

Indian Valley Schools, Gnadenhutten, $5,000 for Project Lead the Way.

The Reeves Foundation was established in 1966 by Samuel Reeves and has been providing grants to Internal Revenue Service designated 501(c)(3) organizations and public entities since then. During 2012, the Reeves Foundation observed 46 years of continuous community service with a grant total of $29,389,124 in 1,087 grants to qualified applicants.
