The Newcomerstown Senior Center's January/February birthday party will be Friday, Feb. 22.

The meal begins at 11:30 a.m. Come earlier than that to hear Ray McFadden and his band play. They will be entertaining also after the meal.

The center will provide the meat and scalloped potatoes. Bring a side dish or dessert.

On Feb. 14, they were entertained my Mike Hoskins who played Valentines songs. Several of the members made Valentine boxes and exchanged Valentine cards. They played a game of matching famous couples prior to lunch. They had a great meal of steak, baked potato, carrots, cupcake and fruit.

If you would like to enjoy some of the festivities, just visit the center. They are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is usually a scheduled activity every day. Membership is only $4 per year. You must be 55 years of age or older to join the center. You do not have to be a member to enjoy the meals that are created by cook, Heather Berndt. They ask that a donation of $3 per meal from those who are 60 years of age or older. If you are under 60 years of age and would like to eat in the dining room, you would have a $5.50 cost. Lunch is served Monday through Friday at 11:30 a.m. Call by 9:30 a.m. each day to place your reservation. The phone number for the dining room is 498-7128.
