Kindergarten registration for those children entering the Newcomerstown Exempted Village School District has been set.

Registration will be April 11 from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5:30 p.m. and again April 12 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church (next door to the East School).

Children must be 5 years old on or before Aug. 1, 2013. It is most important that all children who will be entering kindergarten in the fall come to registration.

The child will be given a speech and hearing test, Brigance test, and vision screening.

Parents must bring immunizations records, birth certificate, social security card, and in case of separation or divorce, parents must bring proof of custody.

This year all children who attend registration will be given crayons, scissors, glue stick and a pencil for use at home.

Parents will be given a Kindergarten Handbook and many suggestions to use to help children best prepare for entering school.

If you have any questions about registration, call the East School Office at 498-6601.
